About our Pre-School & Child Care Director
Jennifer Layne is a twenty-year YMCA employee. She has filled many roles in that time, but she is most passionate about her time in the Childcare and the Youth Programs. Jennifer is currently the Childcare Director, and she looks forward to coming to work and seeing what new adventures each day will bring. She loves all her children, their families, and her staff. Jennifer is proud of her Childcare Center and feels blessed to be a part of the YMCA. She is committed to using her position to help the children in our community learn and grow. She wants all children to feel loved and to know that they are truly valued.
She also enjoys taking part in several other YMCA events and partnerships. Trunk or Treat is her favorite annual event with the No Boundaries Special Olympics in a close second place. Jennifer loves to see people smile and both events bring joy to others.
Jennifer has been married to her best friend, Chuck Layne, for 24 years. They have 3 dogs and a fish together.
Jennifer is a graduate of Boyd County High School’s Class of 1999 and attended college at Morehead State University briefly before returning to Ashland to help her family.
Jennifer loves Jesus, all things Disney, reading, art, cooking and baking, animals, music, and warm sunny days.

Child Care
The YMCA Child Care program is a year round state certified pre-school program that offers age specific (1-5) class curriculum. To request a spot for our 4 STAR rated Child Care Program you will need to speak with someone in our Child Care Office.

After School Programs
After School Program After School is available to children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade (Ages 5-12). Monday through Friday 2:45PM to 5:30PM while Ashland Schools are in session.

Summer Day Camps
Day Camp is available to children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade (Ages 5-11) 7:00AM-5:30PM Monday – Friday most days that Ashland Independent Schools are not in session.
